The Counsellor, (Tomas Millian, wants to retire from the Mafia family,  the Don, (Martin Balsam), reluctantly gives his permission, The ambitious Garrafalo, (Francisco Rabal), seizes this opportunity to overthrow the Don and take control of the Mafia interests on the West Coast. A  inner gang  war erupts, starting in San Francisco and ending on the back streets of Sicily.
